Every day, African families make choices about what to buy, what to eat and drink, and how to spend their household budgets. Too often, the regulations shaping those choices are written without the consumer in the room. FCFA brings the consumer's voice, and the consumer's evidence, into those rooms.
Our edge: we are a pan-African consumer advocacy organization. Our advocates and fellows work across Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana, and we partner with research organizations across the continent on joint research and advocacy. We bring data on how regulation lands on ordinary households, and we carry it into newsrooms, parliaments, and regulatory hearings.
What partnership funds:
- Rapid-response campaigns on live policy debates.
- Consumer polling and household-cost research.
- Roundtables that bring regulators, businesses, and consumer voices into the same room.
- Media and commentary that keep the consumer's case in the public debate.
Current engagements span Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.
