His most recent position is the Development Intern role with Africa Policy Conversations (AfPC), a think tank focused on policy reform, public education, and sustainable development across Africa, that will later have him engaged in feature writing, multimedia storytelling, and sharpen his ability to spot policy ideas for driving Africa’s sustainable energy future.
For more than four years, he has gained professional experience as a Data Analytics Intern at Hash Analytic and later as a full-time Data Scientist at Taskzap Global. His journey began with self-study and social impact volunteering as a Student Ambassador with Code Warriors, a community of over 400 members, where he shared learning content on Data & AI. His expertise also includes media tracking, drafting pitches, and reporting on inclusive tech policies. He now focuses on empowering communities through data and ethical tech practices.
He was a speaker at Django Conference United States (DjangoCon US) 2023, where he discussed the social impact of technology and unconscious bias in product development. Victor played a representative role during COVID-19 while freelancing with Data Science Network (DSN) (formerly Data Science Nigeria). A bootcamp earned him the Google Africa Developers Scholarship in partnership with Andela and Pluralsight, after which he led a team to develop a health chatbot prototype that gained partnership traction with Advaneo, a leading data marketplace. In his personal product development endeavors to enter mainstream tech, he has built several data-driven solutions to enhance business success and scalability, including a transcription app, optical character recognition (OCR) apps, and management systems. His work also extends to data-driven infographics and video editing, having produced five documentaries—three of which were published by prominent Nigerian outlets like the Foundation for Investigative Journalism and The Nation Newspapers.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Nigeria, and is a graduate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). During his university years, he worked as a Process Engineering Intern at The Coca-Cola Company, assisting in product analysis, monitoring machines, and recommending repairs — an experience that was of significant professional and academic interest. He also served as the AI Team Lead for the OAU Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), contributing to energy paper contests and simulations. Additionally, he was an active representative of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), co-hosting campus events with industry leaders and participating in policy dialogues on Nigeria's tech sector. With his background in data and energy, he is committed to responsible tech innovation, equitable clean energy access, and data-driven solutions that advocate for policies and values that empower communities.
